Alice Hollister born in Massachusetts in 1886. Convent educated. Became a popular figure in more than 90 silent melodrama and crime films, a dark-haired beauty, perhaps the screen's first 'vamp', joined the Kalem Film Company along with her husband pioneering cinematographer George K. Hollister, she made her film debut in 'By a Woman's Wit' under the direction of Sidney Olcott in 1911, perhaps her most important role as Mary Madeleine in 'From the Manger to the Cross' in 1912 Filmed on location in Isreal, the following year starred in 'The Vampire's Trail' directed by Robert G. Vignola, her last screen appearance as Mrs. Mayne in 'The Dancers' directed by Emmett J. Flynn and starring George O'Brien at the Fox Film Co in 1925.
