Alicia Banit

Prior to playing her well known role of Kat Karamakov on ABC Australia's Dance Academy, she had a recurring role on the hit Australian soap opera Neighbours. She landed her breakthrough role as Kaitlyn on the short-lived comedy series Summer Heights High in 2007. She is skilled in ballet, hip hop, tap, modern, and jazz dance. She is from St. Helena in Victoria. She grew up with a brother named Matt. When she was only 8 years old, she starred opposite Miranda Otto in the film Dead Letter
