Alphonso Romero Jones, II, a native of Trenton, New Jersey, has always been musically inclined. Pots and pans quickly transcended into a full drum set, resulting in AJ winning his first amateur competition at the age of 5. His flair for the dramatics also began at age 5 by acting in many church plays penned by his mother. AJ wrote, directed and starred in his own play entitled, "The Pain of The Cross" at age 7. He made his professional theatrical debut at age 8 in A Christmas Carol at McCarter Theatre in Princeton, New Jersey. In 2009, his career was catapulted to a new level when he was cast as "Young Simba" in Disney's The Lion King on Broadway. After leaving the show in 2012, AJ's star continued to shine by modeling for Lord & Taylor and voicing many commercials, both television and radio. In 2018, Alphonso had his on screen debut in the movie "Roxanne Roxanne". Throughout his acting career, AJ has taught himself to play acoustic guitar, bass, keyboard and has remained an honor student. He is also forging his way as a budding music producer, singer and lyricist, making appearances at SOB's and Webster Hall in New York. AJ enjoys playing video games, basketball, and making music in his home studio.
