Anibal Silveyra is a well-known actor from Buenos Aires, Argentina. He has been acting in the biggest Broadway musicals in Buenos Aires such as "Jesus Christ Superstar" as Jesus, "Blood Brothers" as Eddie, "La Cage aux Folles" as Jean Michel, "The Unsinkable Molly Brown", "Woman of the Year", "Sugar", "Dona Flor and her two Husbands", "Mama is a Star" and "Kiss of the Spider Woman" as Molina the homosexual, directed by Harold Prince, for which he was nominated for the Maria Guerrero, one of the most important awards in Argentina, and later won the ACE for the Best Actor in a Musical in 1995 for Kiss of the Spider Woman. He has written and directed many musicals of his own, such as "Black Corsarius" and "Robin Hood". He has also worked extensively in TV through the years, starring in such hit shows as "Alta Comedia" ("Heightened Comedy"), "Todo es cuestion de Empezar" ("Everything is just a matter of beginning") "Matrimonies y Algo Mas" ("Marriages and Something Else") and "Peor es Nada" ("Worse than Nothing") where he was a series of regular for five years, has also brought him great notoriety. He is now doing his first projects in English, having worked in the show "The Practice" and being part of "Knightsbridge Theater Company",where he has played the role of Mysterious Man in the production of "Into the Woods" by Stephen Sondheim. This last January, Anibal played the tenor in "Closer than Ever" by Maltby and Shire, with great reviews at the same theatre. One of his dreams came true, when "Evita" gave him the chance to be the first Argentinean to play the role of "Che Guevara" in English, for which he thanks the production and direction of this project. Anibal won the ROMAN Award Best Actor in a Musical for Closer than Ever 2006 Knightsbridge Theatre. The Lark opened July 20th, 2007, and right after that, Oliver, the musical, gave him the chance to play Fagin with Stepping Stone Prod. Summer 2007. After that, 2008, at the Knightsbridge Theatre, he played Georges in "La Cage aux Folles". In 2010 he was Manuel "Sinapellido" Patiño in the Film "A Good Day" aka "Un Buen Día".
