Charley portrayed "El Presidente", a fictional dictator in a Van Melle commercial filmed in Pretoria, South Africa. For the shoot, a huge portrait of "El Presidente" was hung from the exterior of the famous Palace of Justice on Paul Krueger Square. Charley's visage is the only one known to have ever been displayed there.
