Derek Severson

Derek Michael Severson was born on August 8th in Hammond, Indiana; to parents Peter and Amber Severson. He has an older sister, Rachel, and a younger brother, Peter. Derek spent his early years in the small town of Fairbury, Illinois. He later attended both Prairie Central High School and Lincoln-Way East High School, from which he graduated in 2008. In January of 2012, after some college, Derek enlisted as an active duty member of the United States Air Force. After Basic Military Training he was stationed at Joint Base Charleston, South Carolina as a C-17 Loadmaster in the 15th Airlift Sqaudron. He traveled constantly with the Air Force, deploying twice to the Middle East. When he was back in Charleston, he would study improv at Theatre 99 and look for acting roles that he could work around his military schedule. He got his start in acting with featured extra roles in Blue Mountain State: The Rise of Thadland (2016) , and the Pilot for CBS's The Inspectors. In 2016, after his four year enlistment ended, he moved to Los Angeles, California to attend the American Academy of Dramatic Arts- West. Derek is best known for his role as the Dancing Killer in Gold Dust (2017).
