A longtime member of SAG/AFTRA, Doris works in principal, supporting actor and co-star roles on independent film as well as major studio productions. Some of the respected actors she's been fortunate to work with are Tom Selleck, John Travolta, Judd Nelson and Robert Duvall, who once said to her, "the camera loves you." She cherishes her stage roles as Ruth in "A Raisin in the Sun" and the Lady in Red in "for colored girls who have considered suicide when the rainbow is enuf." An experienced Registered Nurse, Doris is as comfortable in medical settings as she is on a set or stage. She says, "acting and medicine are both in my blood." She's been frequently cast as a nurse without anyone's awareness of her training. People often first recognize her when hearing her warm, soothing voice, which she attributes to years of talking to babies in Neonatal Intensive Care units. Doris enjoys writing poetry and has also authored a play, "Daughters of Judah, a Dramatic Musical." She studied at the
