Estrella Tamez

Estrella was born in East Los Angeles and at the age of 9 moved with her family to Las Cruces, New Mexico. Estrella's grandparents settled in Boyle Heights from Mexico in the early 1950s. Both of her parents were raised in Boyle Heights and her last living grandmother still resides there.
