James Lewis Cartwright has won a Royal Television Society Award for Best Leading Actor for his performance as Johnny in BBC's production - Johnny Shakespeare. He has won the Scotsman Fringe First Award 2015 for his performance in one man play - Raz (play) which then transferred to Trafalgar Studios London in 2016. He was nominated in 2014 for Best Leading Actor in a Westend production for his role in the play Passing By. He is also a regular in the world's longest running soap The Archers, playing PC Harrison Burns. Born in Royal Bolton Hospital in Bolton, Lancashire. Cartwright was brought up in Chorley, Lancashire. His professional debut was Vacuuming Completely Nude in Paradise a BBC feature film about a hard-nosed vacuum salesman played by Tim Spall and directed by Danny Boyle. James played De Kid, a hitch hiking DJ who drifts from nightclub to nightclub all over the country.
