Jon Edwin Wright
ACTOR
Jon Edwin Wright grew up in Central California and remembers performing on stage in front of his peers from the time he was in grade school. Alas, his journey to pursue acting as a craft didn't continue until after he completed his undergraduate studies at UC Berkeley. Given the opportunity to travel and entertain others, Jon passed on grad school and made the most of it by supporting himself in cities around the globe (ie Paris, Milan, Madrid, Vienna, London, Hamburg, Tokyo, etc) by working in the modeling industry while auditioning for small roles on TV. He eventually relocated to NYC where he worked a number of jobs while taking acting classes only to return to grad school to pursue a Masters degree in Geosciences at Mississippi State University. After finishing his studies, Jon spent a couple of years working as an Assistant Professor of Meteorology at Jackson State University (MS) as well as a TVWeathecaster at the local NBC affiliate (WLBT-TV). Upon the passing of his father from cancer, Jon returned to CA to be closer to family and, after a brief stint in sales, he rediscovered his love for acting and proceeded to build his resume with assignments that include a lead role in an Off-Broadway play ("The Bystander"); a role in an independent film where he displays his proficiency in Italian ("The Tiger and the Eagle"); a small role as a TV Reporter in the acclaimed film "Hidden Figures"; and most recently, a lead role in "The Perception" where he plays the troubled novelist Richard Sykes. Jon dedicates his craft to all cancer victims and their loved ones.
