Josette Taylor

Josette Taylor

ACTRESS

Born and raised in the Cajun bayou areas of Southeast Texas, Josette was an only child with a difficult life. The whole family was poor; her parents did odd jobs, mechanic work, shrimping, and lived off of welfare to survive. She was partially raised by relatives, who were mostly abusive. To escape, she gravitated towards music, acting, and horror movies early on. She never took any theater classes in school because she felt "too outcast for the outcasts." After earning many awards and scholarships, music education was going to be her career. Then, life happened. Three children and the death of her mother put any lifelong dreams on hold. She became a registered nurse and worked to provide for the family. But she never stopped longing. Her first brush with acting was playing a zombie bridesmaid in Mel House's video "Not About a Girl or a Place" for Jonah Matranga. Then she played Janice Wilcox in the Texas-based independent horror movie, "Slaughterhouse" with Parrish Randall. While living in NY in 2008-2010, she attended several auditions and workshops, which taught her more about the acting process and to hone her skills. She began looking toward Atlanta, which has became a booming new hub for the entertainment industry, especially for TV and film. She is presently living in Alabama with her husband and two of her four children.
