Kylie Hitchcock is an Australian-Canadian screenwriter, director, and producer. She is the 2019 recipient of the Artist of the Year award at the Northern Virginia International Film Festival. Her breakout feature film, The Dog Walker, a psychological thriller, was nominated for eight awards at the festival including Best Director and Best Feature Film and has since won Best Dramatic Feature at the New Haven International Film Festival. Produced by Gladiolus Productions, The Dog Walker has secured official selections in eight festivals to date and won additional awards for Best Soundtrack, Best Actress, Bst Supporting Actor, and Best Supporting Actress. Kylie's career began on stage, performing in Shakespeare comedies in Australia before shifting to film and television from the early 2000s in Toronto and New York. She has worked in many facets of film production from background performing and acting in major film and television productions in NYC and Toronto to working as a one-woman film production team in northern Haiti for a documentary. In 2015 Kylie wrote and directed 'Moral Compass' a narrative short which earned her a Best Director award at the 2016 Atlantic City Cinefest and three Best Short Film nominations. Moral Compass screened in seven festivals and received additional wins for Best Supporting Actor and Best Supporting Actress. Kylie enjoys working in a variety of genres, and in 2018, after she directed her first short documentary, The Culinary Professor, she joined SEIS Lumiere Ltd. as a Segment Producer on a two-part documentary about the British Royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Kylie's next endeavor will be as writer-director on her new sitcom comedy pilot, Wellness Inc. which will be produced by Gladiolus Productions, LLC. In front of the camera or behind, Kylie is a visual storyteller who weaves her diverse life experiences into each story she creates.
