ACTRESS

English born curly-brunette star, Marie Empress born in England in the late 1880's. She was once well-known on drama and comedy theatre in England and American from the 1900's. Beautiful lady who starred in at least seven movies making her film debut playing the role of Mildred Bennett in the comedy 'Old Dutch' directed by Frank Hall Crane, starring Lew Fields and Vivian Martin for the Shubert Film Co in 1915, her most memorable role as Inez Valenti in 'Behind Closed Doors' a drama directed by Joseph A. Golden and co-starring Marian Swayne at Triumph Film Co in 1916, Marie was last seen on screen as Zelma in 'The Girl Who Doesn't Know' a melodrama directed by Charles Bartlett at the B.S. Moss Film Co in late 1916. She appeared at the West End theatre in London, after the show ended she sailed back to America, during her trip she fell overboard and drowned in the Atlantic ocean in 1919 she was only about 30 years old
