Born in 1989, Mar Amezcua is an actress from Colima Mexico. Her experience as an actress began as a child doing local theater in her native town, where she participated in school theater groups. This was a pivotal point in her life because it was during her school training where she realized that she wanted to devote acting throughout her life, not only as a hobby but as a career. At the age of 17, she traveled to Madrid, Spain, where she studied and trained professionally at the prestigious school of Juan Carlos Corazza. After finishing her acting training she returned to Mexico and was fortunate to have worked in her first feature film, co-starring alongside the renowned actress Iran del Castillo called, 31 DIAS, which premiered in theaters in 2012. Soon after, Mar Amezcua emerged into the world of theater and participated in many well-known pieces such as: The Cherry Orchard, The Home of Bernalda de Alba, The Bird Returns to its Nest, Blood Wedding, and many more. In 2014, she moved to Los Angeles, California to pursue her acting career in the United States. Throughout, her time in Los Angeles she embarked on a new journey to not only act but to write and produce her own pieces. This catapulted her onto writing her first feature film called Lala, where she will star as the lead actress. Lala is currently in pre-production and in the works to being filmed starting 2019. She has also been seen in many short film festivals such as the winner short of California Lullaby. Most recently, she acted in another short film called Halfdanr, which is still in post production. Currently, Mar is very excited to make her first debut as a comedy actress in the series Outta Pocket as the recurring role of Karen that will air this coming Fall. To that end, Mar aspires to pursue comedy and envisions her career as a lead actress in a leading comedy show in the United States. Throughout her journey and many successes she is humbled and grateful for her mother and daughter for all their support and endless love they have given!
