Pamela Gail Hensley was born on October 3, 1950 in Glendale, California, and is one of those rare screen stars who grew up in the heart of Los Angeles. Her father still maintains a thriving veterinary practice on Coldwater Canyon, where his patients include Pamela's Persian cats, "Hot Tin" and "Roof". She attended the Argyle Academy, then won an audition with the world-famous Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London. After three years of intensive theatrical training, she felt she was at last ready to challenge her hometown. Universal signed her to a seven-year contract, followed by choice roles in such leading dramatic television series as "Columbo", McMillan & Wife (1971), McCloud (1970) and The Rockford Files (1974). Producer Norman Jewison joined the growing list of Hensley admirers and starred her as James Caan's live-in lover in the science fiction action film Rollerball (1975).
