Since graduating from the prestigious drama school LAMDA, Rod was cast as 'Thorfinn Rowle' in the HARRY POTTER movies and was nominated for his stunt work in the famous cafe scene before working on 'Waking The Dead', Law And Order' and 'The Tunnel' TV series' Rod is a physical actor who has extensive training in martial arts and is a fully licensed member in the ' GENBUKAN a traditional Japanese Battle field martial art where he is trained in original JUJUTSU and NINPO by his DOJO - CHO JASON HINDLEY ( a direct student of GRAND MASTER SHOTO TANEMURA SENSEI )He also has a extensive boxing background where he was trained by Australia's boxing legends ' BERNIE HALL ' at Sydney's tough Rocks Gymnasium and 'MAX PESCUD' at his home gym on the Gold coast from whom he served a tough apprenticeship sparring with fighters all over Australia and the world for their upcoming title bouts and has trained under the late 'Mick Carney' at the famous Fitzroy Lodge boxing club in Lambeth South London for the last 25 years where he sparred with 'David Haye' former Cruiser and Heavy weight champion of the world and 'Ted Bami' former European light welterweight champion , Rod also trains with chief instructor ZEB GLOVER in the self defense system for military / police - SPEAR and FUNCTIONAL EDGE SYSTEM and is a confident horse back rider. Rod due to his physical background , expertise is called upon to perform his own STUNTS on film/ Tv . in between acting parts Rod takes class at the Actors Centre in London with the the legendary acting coach 'Nina Finburgh' and Nathan Osgood on working on scenes from English/foreign classic, modern contemporary to American classics.
