Born in Newark, New Jersey, Shabazz grew up in near by Summit. He quickly excelled in Football and Basketball at Summit High School and took to acting soon after. Once bitten by the 'acting bug' he made that his main pursuit. A graduate of Kean University in Union, NJ with a degree in Theatre Education. Shabazz became a member of Actors' Equity in 2014. He got his television debuts in shows such as"School Spirits" (SyFy Network) and "REDRUM" (Investigation Discovery). He then made multiple theatrical appearances on New York and Regional stages. Some favorite credits include: Philosophy for Gangsters (Off-Broadway, Beckett Theatre), "Oklahoma" (Denver Center for the Performing Arts), "Topdog/Underdog" (Lake Dillon Theatre Company), "The Ballad of Trayvon Martin" (New Freedom Theatre), "To Kill a Mockingbird" (Greenbrier Valley Theatre), "Little Rock" (Passage Theatre Company), "Midnight Madness" (NYMF) and "The Bodhisattva of Broadway" (Manhattan Rep). Shabazz has also completed two National Tours with the Omaha Theatre Company in "How I Became A Pirate" and "The Diary of a Worm, a Spider and a Fly". His theatre education passions have taken him through Premiere Stages as a resident Teaching Artist and Assistant, various high schools, and private workshops and lessons. Acting and performance is such n incredible business and craft. Shabazz has nothing but respect and admiration for this profession, and each day he is thankful for the opportunity to be a part of it!
