Sherif Ramzy was born on the New Year's Eve in Cairo, into a family considered to be one of Egypt's pioneers in the cinema industry. With important film distributor and producer Mohamed H. Ramzy for a father and Hassan Ramzy the famous film director and distributor as well founder of El Nasr Film Company and the first president of the chamber of Egyptian Cinema Industry for a grandfather; it is only natural for Sherif Ramzy to follow that same path. When Sherif turned five years old, his parents separated. He had to move to live with his mother and younger brother. his grandmother and grandfather the legendary actor Salah Zulficar shared his mother in growing him up, being nurtured and raised by his grandparents had a major influence in shaping Sherif's personality both personally and professionally. In addition, his relationship with his father remained strong through out the years. Sherif's love for acting can be traced back to his grandfather Salah, his role model both in life and career since he cared for him very much. At the age of three, Sherif was enrolled in the Irish Nursery for a period of two years then he later moved to the Alsson Language School in Harraneya until he successfully graduated from High School. Sherif was a quiet, persistent and very promising student. His many talents like painting, sculpture, acting, writing screenplays as well as directing started appearing and maturing one after the other. Sherif never missed participating in all of his School's plays. He also enjoyed creating and directing his own plays together with his friends and performing them in front of his family when he was only twelve years old.
