Yannick Vincent de Waal was born in 1994 near Amsterdam (the Netherlands) to screenwriter Simon de Waal and remedial teacher Mieke de Waal-Migchelsen. Yannick made his movie debut at the age of 12 in the family film 'Kapitein Rob en het Geheim van Professor Lupardi'. He studied at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York and is best known for his leading role in the film 'Confetti Harvest' (Berlin Film Festival selection 2015). The Hollywood Reporter praised his performance: "Yannick de Waal, as Kat's big brother and ally Christiaan, impresses as the primus inter pares of the protagonist's small army of siblings." Yannick also starred in the award-winning short film 'Parnassus' and had a leading role in the film 'Breath' which was selected for the Cannes International Film Festival and nominated for Best Short Film at the Dutch Film Festival. Yannick has been seen in a variety of Dutch television series including 'Bureau Raampoort', 'Zwarte Tulp', 'Floor Faber', 'De Troon' (portraying the young King Willem III), 'Flikken Maastricht', 'Gooische Vrouwen' and 'De Val van Aantjes'. Yannick was featured in Peter Kosminsky's 4-part series 'The State' which was nominated for a BAFTA in the category 'Best Mini-series'. Furthermore, he starred as the enigmatic George in the Blackpills series 'Immortality' directed by Nick Parish.
