Maria Coral Otero Soto

María Coral Otero Soto was born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She was introduced to the performing arts at a very young age, and began her career as a child actor. Her debut in film was at 13 years old with the lead role in the feature film Ruido, directed by Cesar Rodríguez. María Coral received great reviews for her work in Ruido by actress Kathy Bates, receiving the first ever Innovation Award at the 2006 Montreal World Film Festival. With Ruido, María Coral also attended the VIII Santo Domingo Film Festival where the film won Best Opera Prima, and the Havana Film Festival where it won the Audience Choice Award.
