Thomas Hamby

Thomas Hamby was born in Tennessee USA and grew up in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. He is a healthy, active and physically fit baby boomer, Vietnam Era Veteran and Grandfather who is equally at home in a forest or a world capital and, more recently, in front of a camera! In addition to acting skills, he is a woodsman and carpenter handy with a vesuri, the Finnish cousin of a machete married to an axe, chainsaw, hammer and tongs and various building and construction tools and equipment! He holds BA and MS degrees primarily focused on Economics. He began his acting training in 2015 with some theater course work and progressed to film and TV at Hollywood Acting Studio JAX (Jacksonville) with originally LA based Acting Coach Jill Donnellan! Of particular personal note, he has served in the military, as a political appointee and as a Foreign Service Officer, highlights of which are doing a bit of nation building, meeting four U.S. Presidents and Stalin Confidant Andrei Gromyko AKA Mr. Nyet, dealing with a Foreign Head of State in a panic dismount from a Tennessee Walking Horse and, above all, has the distinction of being presented to Queen Elizabeth II. Interests include acting, screen writing, aerobic exercise complimented by pilates, coreworks, bodyflow and yoga and travel. He has had military and diplomatic training and experience, weapons training and some previous training in a martial art. He has more than a passing acquaintance with the Finnish language and from his education, military and Foreign Service background and experience, a pretty much life time interest in world politics. He has traveled extensively and lived abroad in various countries and divides his time between the USA and Europe. His favorite pastime, in addition to acting, involves forestry management on his 10 acres on a lake in Finland.
